Want to create a huge impact on the overall design of your unique handmade gifts? Paper punched into basic geometric shapes can do the job. The shapes can be arranged in a border stripe or divided up to fill in blank space in a scrapbook page. It can also make design for handmade cards or invitations. The possibilities are endless once you are willing to try something new.
Use punches to make shapes in coordinating colors to go with your layout in scrapbooking. Choose one color and shape to be the background for each design. Layer the shapes as desired to decorate the square. Allow some of the shapes to extend off the edge of the bottom. Use scissors to trim the shape even with the edge of the base.
Mat each finished square and add an embellishment such as an eyelet or brad to complete the shape. Add these squares to your layout in a line to create a border.
